The objective of this computer vision project is to train a model capable of recognizing club member faces using a webcam and displaying their information in real time. The goal is to reliably identify members through the camera, log their attendance automatically, and integrate this system into future club-related projects and/or share with other clubs if asked.
The objective of this project is to develop a machine-learning model capable of predicting the static friction breakage between two materials using physical property ratings and existing friction datasets.
The goal is to create a more accessible, scalable, and cost-efficient alternative to traditional friction experiments and to evaluate whether ML can outperform or match LLM-based predictions.
The purpose of this project is to develop a grade prediction model that estimates a Santa Monica College student’s expected grade in a given math course taught by a specific professor.
The goal is to help students make informed class-selection decisions by using both historical grade data and student academic history, while also assisting instructors and counselors in identifying performance trends.
AI is a gateway to limitless potential in every major. The Artificial Intelligence Club (AIC) at SMC was established to cultivate a community of students passionate about learning, discussing, and innovating in the field of AI. Begin your journey with us as we explore its impact across all fields. The AI club will offer a professional platform featuring guest speakers, debates, and workshops aimed at instructing on the practical applications of AI in everyday life.

No, everybody is welcome to our workshops.
No, we are hoping to get more people from different majors to enhance the perspective on AI because we all know that AI impacts every major!
You can either hate or love AI, it is not going to change the fact that it is coming to our everyday lives. Our mission is to adapt it in the best way we can.
No, but we always encourage students to join or create any project or a research paper. It could be anything!
